Make Writing a Priority
With a busy work life, family life, social life, etc., it can be easy to lose focus on your writing life. Because finding time to write can be a struggle, you have to make time to write instead.
“There are many excuses not to write. Try using writing as an excuse not to do other things.”
— J.C. Hewitt
Your schedule will never magically open up to make room for all the things you want to do with your life. You have to decide what you want to accomplish and take action to see that you reach your goals. If you want to be a writer, then you must write. It’s the only way.
Instead of neglecting your writing to make room for other activities, make a conscious effort to restructure your schedule in a way that highlights the importance of writing. After all, being a writer is a lifestyle choice, and you have to be willing to do some work to maintain the lifestyle you want.
